Career Guidance Seminar on Oil & Gas Industry

An alumni association plays important roles to benefit both the alumni as well as the university. The leadership role of the association is valuable to encourage and promote the enhancement of the university’s reputation, and to carry out the mission of the institution. Furthermore, the association promotes interaction among alumni for valuable social and professional contacts, helps prospective and current students in guiding their education as well as stimulating intellectual aspects. Moreover, the association also contributes to the society through community services and social events.

With those interests in mind, the association members can realize them by giving full commitment, and developing and implementing programs that promote the missions and vision of the university and its alumni. Therefore, UTP Alumni Association and Alumni advisory team of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS are organizing a “Career Guidance Seminar on Oil & Gas Industry” which intends to create awareness on various opportunities within Oil & Gas industry in terms of the career prospect through the collaboration with Young Professional Section of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and other Young Professional Section from PETRONAS. The program will be platform for the association to get more participation and membership from alumni members, sharing university’s and members’ hopes, as well as enhance the relationship among participants.

OBJECTIVES of this seminar are :

• To create awareness among the graduating students (B.Eng PE) on their choice of career in Upstream and Downstream business once they graduate
• To have a discussion session with alumni and Society of Petroleum Engineers
• To meet the objectives of both SPE and UTP alumni in serving the community
• To promote about the existence of SPE and other young professional sections in corporate
• To establish/enhance relationship among alumni members or other young professional organizations
• To create awareness amongst students on job/task description of your related work
• To share experience and challenges faced in working environment
• To motivate students
