GO HALLIBURTON DAY

   Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) – Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) Student Chapter collaborated with Halliburton Technical Excellence Centre Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS organize ‘Go Halliburton’, a one day event consisted of exhibitions and series of presentation to introduce Halliburton to the students. The event is in line with the SPE-UTP-SC’s mission, which is to collect, disseminate, and exchange technical knowledge concerning the exploration, development and production of oil and gas resources, and related technologies to the students and staffs of UTP.

       Via the event, UTP students could be widely exposed to the world of oil and gas particularly the upstream exploration and production operations from the perspective of a leading oilfield  service provider in Halliburton. Furthermore ‘Go Halliburton’ also provided opportunities for the students to enhance their technical knowledge and know how on the industry for their professional competence in the future.

      On the day, it is our honour to have UTP represented by Datuk Dr Zainal Abidin Haji Kasim, Rector and CEO of UTP while Halliburton was represented by its Area Vice President, Mr Rao Abdullah to launch the event.

    We had exhibitions of oil and gas operation equipments and a series of presentations which  included the scope of  Sperry Drilling, Wireline & Perforating, Drill Bits, Landmark, Baroid, Cementing, Production Enhancement, Well Completion.  In the presentations, the students were
exposed to the latest information regarding certain products or services offered by Halliburton so that they can understand more about Halliburton.

       During the event, exhibition booths were set up along the walkway of Pocket D, featuring the display Halliburton latest equipments and some posters regarding Halliburton products and services. There were also Halliburton personnel at the booths to engage with UTP students or staff and deal with any enquiries. Halliburton personnel also accept resume for internship and
graduating.

       The event was very successful as many students benefited from this event and Society of Petroleum Engineers Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS Student Chapter will continue to do better in the future to engage more regularly with the industrial companies.  A special thank to Halliburton Technical Excellence Centre for their support and assistance throughout the event too.
