Internship Preparation Workshop

The internship Preparation Workshop which was carried out on 22nd of September 2010 was a success. Lots of interesting questions and topics were discussed during the forum and hope audiences who came gained some valuable knowledge and advice from this workshop.
The issues discussed during the 1st session : Internship Sharing Forum
  • Internship application process
  • How to manage interview, how to perform in an interview
  • Introduction to their intern company, technical expertise and what they did during intern.
  • Experience gained during intern and working culture in their companies.
  • Advices to future interns, route of their career path and how to choose your intern companies.
Internship application process - do not hesitate to send your updated CV to companies you are interested in  (one of the speakers sent his CV to more than 50 companies)

Advices to future interns :


P92142221. Do not give up easily as the application process maybe long and requires a lot of patience.

2. Maintain a fairly good CGPA and active co curriculum background.

3. Start your preparation for interview early - find out the working culture of the company, the targeted personality / qualities / strength the intern company are looking for and prepare yourself for some challenging interview questions


4. Choose a company that suits you - related to your studies or the field you would like venture in the future

5. Internship is the best learning platform. Everyone next to you has something to share and learn. do not hesitate to ask around when you face any difficulties. always keep an open mind, be  humble, dynamic, and polite.

6. Always keep your CV updated. make sure you put all the important information and highlight your strength in the front page.




During the 2nd part of the internship preparation workshop , Mr Nor Che Idham Ghani had a talk on the importance of CV.

Important TIPS to write a good CV!

  • Highlight ETP / FYP projects at the front page of the CV.
  • Proper strategy in arranging the data in the CV
  • Get recommendation letter from lecturers who know you very well. The recommendation letter consists of description of the student's personality , strength and weaknesses.
