Topic: Production Technologist In Well & Reservoir Management

The title for the talk was “Production Technologist In Well and Reservoir Management”. The speaker was Mr. Mohd Shafiq Fhadly Bin Mahmud from Sarawak SHELL Berhad. The advisors for this event were Dr. Ismail Saaid and Mr. Muhammad Sanif Maulut.. All the students from Geoscience and Petroleum Department were invited to attend this event as this event is very beneficial to their future.

The objective of this talk was to prepare the students to get the first hand information about the job scope of a production technologist The talk focused on a production technologist’s role in project delivery and well & reservoir

The talk began at 2.30pm. Mr Shafiq started by introducing his background and shared how his pathway from graduated until he works in Shell Miri Sarawak now. He mentioned about his Final Year Year Project and how it correlated to his current job as a production technologist.

He further introduced what is Production Technologist and how this job been integrated into subsurface and surface team. Later, he also described Production Technologist’s roles in Project Delivery and Well & Reservoir Management.

The speaker had given very fruitful information to the students regarding his experience and knowledge in oil & gas industry and working environment.The speaker also shared some of the tips on interviewing in Shell company, Shell’s background, how to deal with the industry, etc.

The talk ended at 4.10 p.m. and open to Q&A session. The participants were asking questions eagerly. In conclusion, the presentation was wonderful! It was not too technical, comprehensive, and friendly.

The talk ended at 4.30pm by souvenir presentation from Mr Sanif to Mr Shafiq.
