These days, the goverment stresses a lot on the development of human qualities so that the people of our country will obtain and have the mentality of the first class community and also have the courage to compete globally. In addition, it is undisputetable that science and Technology is in very high demand to mke sure of the devolopment in our lifes forever. It is important to conquer the science and technology knowledge as it is an important factor for all Malaysians to a better future for the country.It is because, it has been seen as the main factor to increase the quality of living in this modern and fast track era. In order to incerase the ability of student’s creative innovations in science and technology, the “Science and Technology Fair (SCI-TECH 2009)” has been organised.
This programme benefits all, including students, Universities, undergraduates and industries. The knowledge of the professionals can be a useful inspiration to undergraduates and thus, make them test their own capabilities and step forward to the perfect future. This is aligned with the UTM motto which ‘Inspiring Creative And Innovative Minds’

TYPE OF PROGRAMMES THAT WILL BE HELD
1) Exhibition
Space exhibition, innovative inventions by UTM students and latest technologies exhibited by companies/ agencies that are involved/ bodies and many more. Exhibitions are all about showing inventions from various company both government and non-government section. Exhibition will also come in various kind of invasion such as automobile, telecommunication, oil and gas, food and health products. There are also astronaut exhibition and also PETRONAS exhibition.
2) Innovation & Invention Competition (INNOVEC)
To spark the imagination of future generations of scientist. This is critically important to ensure that scientific ingenuity thrives and the aspiring young scientist confronts its challenges with the curiosity, the tools and the capacity to build a better world.
INNOVEC will be held on both 30th September 2009 and 1st October 2009. It will be held throughout the whole day. On 1st of October 2009, from 9.30 a.m. till 11.00 a.m, the respective judges will start evaluating the participants. The winner will be announced during closing ceremony.
3) Parliamentary Style Debate Competition
This is an English parliamentary style debate and the topics are mainly regarding Science and Technology.
The committee had decided to send out invitations to selected universities; hence the participants will mainly be undergraduates. We will accept 8 groups on first come first serve basis. They will be given a topic to debate on, and the winner will meet another group in second around with another topic. This event will take place for two days which is from 30th September to 1st October 2009.
The grand prizes which have been decided by the committee are RM 400 for the first place, RM 300 for the second place while RM 100 for the third. Besides deepened the knowledge about science and technologies, this debate also helps the students to brush up their debating skills and also enhance their command in English language.
4) Technical Talks
The technical talks will be allocated to our platinum, gold and silver sponsors as part of the privileges of the sponsorship. The topics are mainly about the latest innovative creations in Science and Technology.
This programme has a few slots (depends on the amount platinum, gold, and silver sponsors) and the particular speakers are yet to be decided. These technical talks seem to give mutual benefits to both the companies as well as the audiences. These technical talks will be a golden opportunity for the speakers to advertise their companies as well as their latest products. These technical talks will be an eye opener to all the students on the latest technologies that they might not even get to know from textbooks. Moreover, we hope that through these technical talks, audiences will keep abreast with these latest technologies and make good use of the knowledge in their future career aspects.

5) Interview Session
Interview session will be held on both 30th September 2009 and 1st October 2009.
The undergraduates will have to submit their resumes by early of September via e-mail. The resumes will be sent to the companies to be screened. On the event day, the companies involved will send their representatives to interview the selected candidates.
